Hey everyone! Angela here with Day 6 of the 12 Days of Crafting Challenge. Today I share my gift card holder. I am always looking for new and creative ways to give gift cards, other than just writing on the card.
Each day we’ll present a different challenge and challenge you to play along by adding your projects to the inlinkz button at the bottom of the challenge. You’ll have until December 26 to play along. We cannot wait to see all the WONDERFUL things that you make!
You can play as many times as you wish or just ENJOY the projects as others join in. (If you play in more than one challenge, you are eligible to win multiple times. YAY!
We’ll pick a winner for each day of the challenge and winners will be announced on our blog starting December 27. And the prize? A $20 store credit for each day.
I cut my card base at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored at 5 1/2". I cut a layer in red cardstock at 4" x 5 1/4" and then a piece of pattern paper from the Photo Play Christmas Cheer Paper Pack at 3 3/4" x 5". I cut a strip of pattern paper from that pack at 3/4" x 5 1/4" and a piece of black cardstock at 1" x 5 1/4". For the black strip I used adhesive only on the sides leaving the middle with nothing to slide the card in. I used the Santa from the Santa Gnomie Digi.
I colored Santa with my Spectrum Noir Triblends- Dark Red Combos, Ice Grey Combos and Fair Skin Combos.
I used scor tape behind Santa's feet and under his belly. I wanted to be able to slide the gift card in and have him not side out the bottom. You can then open the card (in this case is a top open card) and write your wishes to the recipient.
I love this unique take on a gift card holder, and it could be done with other images for other themes as well.
I hope that you enjoyed this project and can't wait to see your creations!
